Vehicles in Germany's City Discovered Smeared with Swastikas in Blood, Law Enforcement State

Around fifty vehicles have been marked with what appears to be human blood in the Germany's town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, according to law enforcement.

Automobiles, exterior walls and mailboxes were vandalized, in some cases with swastikas, they reported in a release.

Police state they were notified late on Wednesday, when a individual discovered that a car in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been marked with a reddish fluid.

The liquid had been placed in the shape of a banned symbol, they added.

Police then found many other smeared cars and residential walls in the surrounding area.

Swastikas are banned in Germany under laws prohibiting the public display of Nazi symbols.

Police say initial examinations suggest the fluid was most likely human blood.

"At present there remains no clue as to its source; investigators are currently not aware of any physical harm in connection with the incident," they added.

Municipal representatives said they were attempting "to solve the case" and have requested to the public for information.

An important political figure commented the vandalism made him stunned and had to be solved rapidly.

"This act strikes at the core of Hanau and revives the pain of the extremist attack in 2020," he stated on a platform, mentioning the killing of nine people by a gunman focusing on people of migrant background in 2020.
